I just want to send out a big Happy Birthday to Kelly Clarkson! It is Kelly's 25th birthday today and I hope she has a fabulous day!! It's crazy to think she is already 25, as she was only 20 on Idol! But anyway, I hope she has a great birthday and this next year is as great as these last couple have been! The day many American Idol fans have been waiting for all season finally came last night when Sanjaya Malakar was voted off American Idol Love him or hate him, you have to admire his courage....how many people could have gone out and sang every week, knowing that the majority of America thought you were a joke.  read more »

Kelly Clarkson won the ASCAP award for Song of the Year last night for the song "Because Of You." It was actually a tie between "Because of You," and Mary J Bliges' "Without You," so they both walked away with an award.  read more »

Last night on American Idol, the top 7 contestants took on some country music. The judges didn't seem to like it very much but I really enjoyed it. I think their biases and personal wishes for this season are starting to become very noticeable, and I don't really enjoy that.

Congratulations to Carrie Underwood, who picked up three more CMT awards Monday night. Carrie won for video of the year, female video and best video director at the CMT Awards, which are fan voted. All of the awards were for her video "Before He Cheats."

Congrats again for all of the success Carrie Underwood has had with "Some Hearts" and hopefully her next album will reach this same level of success!

Last night Haley Scarnato was voted off of American Idol. I really don't think anybody expected her to even make the top 12, so I don't think she can be too upset to be voted off at the top 8.

I personally think that Haley deserved to go four or five weeks ago. Her voice wasn't all that terrible but she could not compete with the amazing vocals of all of the other girls so she had to rely upon other things to stay in the competition.  read more »

Kellie Pickler has released the video for her second single, "I Wonder." This is one of my favorite songs off of the album, and I was really excited for the video...while I think they could have done a lot more with it, the video is alright I suppose.

I wish they would have done more flashback type scenes, kind of like Kelly Clarkson's "Because Of You" video. Overall though, I think Kellie did a pretty good job with this video, and I hope the single and video do well!

There are a couple of Idols who have recently signed record deals, or have albums or singles coming out soon, so I thought I'd share! First off, Bucky Covington's self-titled debut album will be released on April 17th. I doubt I will buy this one, but I'll give it a listen and if i like it, maybe I will buy it. I just don't see it doing too well...I didn't like Bucky on the show and thought it was very odd he got a record deal, but best of luck to him!  read more »

This week on American Idol, we had to say goodbye to Gina Glocksen. While I do think that America got the Bottom three right, the wrong person definitely went home. Forget Sanjaya- I really don't understand why Haley is still in the competition. Her voice isn't that great and she is soooo boring. Gina actually had some personality, even if she wasn't a much better (or worse) singer than Haley.  read more »

Last night on American Idol, there were some great performances, and some not so much, but the big news was the announcement that Kelly Clarkson will be performing on the Idol Gives backs special on April 25th.

The top 12 of American Idol 6 are on the cover of People magazine this week. It has a fold out cover that pictures the top 12, and features a little bio of each contestant on the inside. It is a fun read...nothing particularly interesting but it's always fun to learn a little bit more about the contestants. If you are a big American Idol fan than I definitely recommend picking up this issue of People, on sale now.

We will be hearing new music from the original Idol herself, Kelly Clarkson, very soon! Her new single titled "Never Again" will be released to radio on April 11th, which is exactly a week from today!

We have been waiting a long time for some new Kelly music and I am so excited that we are finally getting to hear the new stuff...this also means the album will be out soonish. Kelly said "My December" will be out this summer, just in time for her to do another summer tour!  read more »
