Last night on the Academy of Country music awards, Kelly Clarkson and Reba McEntire debuted their highly anticipated duet. Kelly and Reba originally recorded a song titled "A Lot Like You," but after singing Because Of You with Kelly at the Crossroads taping, Reba decided she wanted to do Because Of You instead. I really like the duet, but to be honest with you, the original is so much better. This song means a lot to me, and I can't imagine anyone but Kelly singing it. Reba does a pretty good job, but I think Kelly's voice is so much better. Reba does most of the singing, but the harmonies that Kelly does are amazing! I really like the duet a lot, but nothing will ever come close to the original for me. Imagine what Kelly must be feeling though! She was a huge Reba fan growing up, and looked up to her immensely, so to have her own Idol want to cover a song she wrote when she was 16 years old must be an amazing feeling! You can start requesting Kelly and Reba's duet version of "Because Of You" at your local country station now, and Rebe McEntires album "Duet" comes out on September 18th.
