Carly Smithson had auditioned for American Idol during season five. She made it through, but was disqualified due to her visa papers not going thru in time. Carly sang I'm Every Woman. I thought she had a great voice, but you could tell she was very nervous. I would like to see her more relaxed, I Carly Smithson can probably really belt it out. I like her look too, it's nice to see someone with some tattoos and not afraid to look different. Although, her man seemed to have gotten carried away with the tats. He seemed like a good looking guy, I never understood why people tattoo their face. Anyway, I think Carly Smithson will be another one to watch this season.

With all the info coming out about this girl - MCA record contract in 2002 where over 2.5 million was spent on her - at a time when Randy Jackson worked for MCA - it brings into question if this gal is a Ringer. At one time I believed that American Idol was for discovering American Talent. Now it seems to be for re-discovering failed recording artists. Especially when AI failed to mention about her background during its telecasts.
Three others have had appearances on Television before - Joanne in Monique's Fat something, Syesha in a failed Reality show - and cute little David was the winner of Star Search Revival a few years ago.
Again - why aren't these things mentioned during the telecasts?
AI certainly goes deep into other backstories - why not for these people? What are they afraid of?
I for one will NOT be voting for any of these folks. I want undiscovered talent - truly undiscovered talent to be on AI.
