The American Idol franchise is valued at over $2.5 Billion! From advertising money alone American Idol bring in $500 Million a year, and when you add concert sales, CDs you will find that the $2.5 Billion is a pretty conservative estimate! Idol also owns the right to many product licenses, for things like the Idol Magazine, costumes, games and more! Idol is also planning to release things like American Idol candy bars, ice cream and a theme park attraction! It is crazy to think that American Idol is worth this much! I remember watching it back in the "ghetto Idol" days and its funny to see how far it has come!
