Tuesday night on American Idol the top 10 boys redeemed themselves, at least a little. The boys were much better this week than they were last week, thank goodness...although I don't think it could have gotten any worse. There were a couple of boring and forgettable performances but there were also quite a few great ones, so lets go... Phil Stacey- "Missing You" The performance was pretty boring, and there isn't anything really unique about Phil. I wanted him to perform a little more, and choose a better song. Definately not the best of the night, but not the worst either. Jared Cotter- "Let's Get It On" I do not remember him at all from last week, which just about summed up his performance tonight as well. His vocals were kind of shaky and he was trying way too hard performance wise. It ended up being okay, but not at all memorable. A.J. Tabaldo- "Feeling Good" The judges seemed to really like this performance but I didn't think it was good at all. Maybe my TV was turned down too low or something, because I could not hear the beginning at all and what I heard during the performance was pretty shaky. However, he picked a nice song and did something different from last week, which was nice. He took a big risk with this song, and judging by the Judges reactions it paid off for him...I didn't like it though. Sanjaya Malakar- "Steppin' Out With My Baby" I used to really like Sanjaya but he has not done good at all these past two weeks. He's cute and sweet, which is probably why he is still there but he is way out of his league in this competition. He chose the completely wrong song tonight...he couldn't have picked a worse song. He looked so awkward it wasn't even funny. HIs vocals were definitely not present at all...he was just all over the place. It sounded horrible. I almost feel bad for Sanjaya..he is going to keep embarassing himself for a couple of weeks, because I think he will make the top 12. I hope America sends him home soon because he really doesn't belong in the competition. Chris Sligh- "Trouble" I usually hate it when they sing songs that have been on Idol before, but Chris did it differently than Taylor and I really liked it. He showed that he can really really sing and he is still one of my favorite guys. I don't really know what else to say about Chris, but I really love his voice and I hope he makes it pretty far! Nick Pedro- "Fever" It was kind of a boring performance...there was something about it that was just off...I can't put my finger on it but it just didn't seem right. His voice is okay but there isn't anything really unique or spectacular about him. I did like the drummer though...lol. Blake Lewis- "Virtual Insanity" Blake is a lot of fun, but he can sing too, which is nice! He really performs when he sings, unlike some of the other boys. I would usually hate the beatboxing but he worked it in nicely, and it ended up working nicely. It definitely wasn't his best show of vocals, but he is a better singer than a lot of the other boys. Nice song choice too! Brandon Rogers- "Time After Time" Yeah..wrong song! It did not work for him at all. It didn't show his vocals and it was very forgettable. I think there is a pretty good chance that he will go home tonight, and pretty much only because he picked the wrong song. His voice isn't half bad but he hasn't showcased it very well. Chris Richardson- "Geek In The Pink" I liked that he picked a song that we have never heard on Idol before. At first the song didn't do too much for him vocally but it got a lot better at the end. I though that it was very good, and memorable, but I don't think it was as good as the judges made it out to be. Sundance Head- "Mustang Sally" The producers must really like him if he got the last spot despite the horrendous performance he gave last week. The Sundance we saw in his original audition is back, and I am so glad because I really like him. He had fun and it definately was not boring. He showed off his voice, which is amazing. So much better than last week...so much better. And his son is adorable!! So that sums up my review of the top ten boy's. Watch American Idol tonight to see who goes home!
